Apps to help with Stress and Anxiety.

 

Stress is normal part of every day life, but for those who live with an anxiety disorder , you can often feel very aloneAnxiety can be overwhelming at times can often have a   debilitating impact on our daily lives.


However a lot of people living with Anxiety or worried about there stress levels . Have found that some iPhone and Android apps actually help them feel more in focus and calm and in control. 

Theses Apps can be beneficial to track your thought patterns or simply   help you unwind  with guided meditations. Whereas I don’t have Anxiety, I’ve found theses app’s can work well for me. Especially  when I’m felling stressed by  something outside my control an need to relax.

So why not make your phone work for you with these mindfulness apps? Currently  ‘mindfulness’ has been somewhat hijacked by the “hipster currency” and they have reinvented it as  it as ‘meditation’…. go figure! But either way it simply means paying more attention to your thoughts and feelings in the present moment, which should lead to better mental wellbeing, according to the NHS. So let’s  see what’s out there.

Worry Box;  Worry Box—Anxiety Self-Help

This app is said to manage all of your worries helping you determine if something you’re fretting over is unimportant, important, controllable, or uncontrollable.

The app also  features a personal diary where you can enter your worries. You can then learn to classify your worry.  Going on examine it objectively, the app gives you various techniques to help manage the apprehension.

I’ve found this app was helpful to share with my teenage relatives who were stressed over exams and life in general .  

 

Self-help Anxiety Management.

This app has actually been made by psychologists and the expert computer scientists. They have generated excellent information to support a person experiencing stress and anxiety.
The user has to figure out the things causing the stress and this app would provide the best-related information to get rid of it. This is app is available currently available for both Android as well as the iOS platforms.

 

Calm – Meditate, Sleep, Relax

Calm is thought to be one the best apps for mindfulness and meditation. Fans of this app say it helps to bring more clarity, joy, and peace into there life’s. .. Calm is said to be the perfect meditation app for beginners, but also includes hundreds of programs for intermediate and advanced meditators and gurus.

If you’ve experienced panic attacks due to anxiety, this app is said to help you manage them.
You keep a personal diary or use the panic assistance audio to help you overcome attacks. It also features relaxation audio to lower stress and relax the body. There are articles covering emotional training, cognitive behavioural therapy, and more. I have a friend who says she used this daily when going through a divorce. she swears it kept her together at a time when she felt the ground was shifting below her.
The Headspace app also teaches you how to meditate and live mindfully.

What’s not to like.?
I’ve found I can use this app  at work, at home or on the train, before sleep . There are exercises on everything from managing anxiety and stress to breathing, sleep, happiness, calm and focus.

 

 

Pacifica – Stress & Anxiety

The Pacifica app is said to provide  you with psychologist-designed tools to address stress and Anxiety based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, mindfulness,  meditation, relaxation, and mood/health tracking.

It an app some of its followers swear by. I know people who use this on a daily basis. I have friend who uses after her yoga class.

  1. Just wanted to say i love 💘 your blogs.I’ve got the calm app. I love it. Ideas your blog about aging parents as well found that really helpful. Lol I downloaded Worry box for my 73 year old mum😄
